Unboxing PENNSYLVANIA. What's GOOD and BAD About Living in PENNSYLVANIA?

What’s it like living in Pennsylvania? Well, you’ve got many different regions of the state, including Philadelphia and Pittsburgh, and central PA, which is mostly farms and country.

In addition, you have a distinct culinary cuisine, the battle between Wawa and Sheetz, and the fact that many people here don’t like living here. But they stay.

Our goal is to combine recent data, fun videos, and thoughts about local culture into bite-sized snacks of shareable information. We call it bite-sized regional infotainment. We try to paint a picture of what’s happening in a region based on “Friday Night Science” — how’d you argue at a bar. To do that, we gather data from around the web to help determine a wide array of factors about where you live, things like safety, desirability, and culture.

  1. I'm a NYer looking to move to PA for the past 2 yrs, now I'm not sure, everyone is commenting it's mostly true. Really??

  2. Sheetz all the way. I used to be a sounding block for the underdog Rutters, but both it and Wawa are sub par to the glory that is the Sheetz drive-thru, and the quesarito.

  3. Born and raised in Philadelphia, PA I never understood the "Brotherly Love thing". Yous" is a Caucasian thing, mainly everyone else says 'Yall" or "You all". I also never understood that "Yous" is what, "You is?" and "Yall" is " You all'? Yall definitely makes more sense to me and " Jawn" is just what it is, lol. The foods you picked are kinda lame except the Cheesesteaks but every company thinks they can make one of those (most of them suck). No argument with everything else.

  4. Nick, love your videos…but, please do some fact checking for future videos as in the over used criticism of booing Santa. Please investigate how pitiful this Santa’s appearance was and you would have booed also.

  5. The snowy video is from Bucharest, Romania, Europe , where I live. I was confuse for a moment, I thought that was actually pennsylvania… Altought, we have Transylvania. Have a Great day!

  6. At around minute 4:45, for about 10 seconds, when talking about the bad winter weather in Pennsylvania, he shows the video of street in Bucharest, Romania – I recognized the street immediately, because I used to live on that street, about 100 yards from where the image was taken. Uh…. Romania is on a different continent. I guess he just ran out of places to film in Pennsylvania.

  7. USA is made of hate, money trip egos and too much individualism, that is why our country is boring for smart foreigners from Latin American countries, mideast nations and some Europeans too

  8. Roads bad.. yes some of what you mentioned true.. but way off in a lot… many many beautiful small towns and affluent areas you just happened to leave off.. and beautiful state parks and outdoor areas.. I guess you just too some wiki info and produced your video..

  9. My impression of PA has been the same as western Upstate NY. It's basically these beautiful mountains and mother nature as far as the eye can see, then you get these towns and villages that have these beautiful amazing skylines with mountain backdrops . . . .

. . . Then you see what the town is like up front and it's ghetto as sh*t, run down, charred up brick buildings and unpainted rotting colonials.

  10. I live in Lancaster PA , and yes I've nearly run down a few Amish with my car. PA is so ripe with history but gets a bad rap. As someone who grew up in PA, but then moved to Florida, I have grown to appreciate both the north and south

  11. I did it! I finally left PA and took my grumpiness down to the happy state of Louisiana. I miss the mountains, but love the weather. (when we're not having hurricanes) You forgot all the names for flowing bodies of water. In order of smallest to largest. streams, creeks, cricks, and rivers.

  12. I lived there for 20 years and still haven't made a friend. The people are very unfriendly in Kittanning. They hate disabled people and people who aren't White. And no one knows where Kittanning is. They also hate women. And there's no jobs.
