The 10 Best Places To Live In Pennsylvania – Job, Retire, & Family

Pennsylvania, a northeastern U.S. state and one of the 13 original colonies, has a diverse terrain, which includes wide stretches of farmland,
national forests, and mountains. Philadelphia, the Keystone State’s largest city, displays its rich history in Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell, an enduring symbol of American freedom.
Pennsylvania is downright beautiful. It is home to some of the country’s richest history, incredible culture and, yes, a picturesque scenery.
The Appalachian Mountains sit here, and the state has more than 120 state parks, with over 100 miles of coastline, and a varied selection of great towns and cities,
each with its own character.
Mountain climbers will love this state, so will surfers, skydivers, and skiers even, depending on where you are in the state.
Little wonder the Keystone State is widely considered one of the best states to retire.
The natural allure aside, this is a notion mostly driven by other key factors for anyone interested in the hard data:
economic vibrancy (this is the sixth-largest state economy), good health care, school districts that are a cut above the other states, affordability, low rate of homelessness and high quality of life.
Here then, are the 10 best places to live in Pennsylvania to help inform your decision better.

10. Philadelphia. (good to retire, find a job, and raise a family)
9. Pittsburgh. (affordable place to retire, job, raise a family)
8. Scranton. (place for jobs)
7. Allentown. (good for retirees)
6. York.
5. Lancaster. (best place to retire)
4. Reading.
3. Harrisburg. (best place to retire, find a job)
2. Erie. (affordable city for retirees, young professionals)
1. Jefferson Hills. (best place to raise a family)

  14. Not that I believe everything I see or hear but this video totally contradicts everything from the last video I just watched and I know for a fact Reading is definitely not a place to move to! I love Pa! My forever home! Plenty of good places to call home!

  15. Philadelphia Seriously? Pittsburgh WTF?
I think the author is one of the well known Pennsylvania drug abusers.

  16. And what do we learn watching this "10 Best Places" video and Nick Johnsons "10 Worst Places" videos about Pennsylvania, realizing most cities occured in both lists? Each medal has two sides.

  17. 18. I lived in PA for decades. This is All WRONG. Its a dump. That's why I'm out.I wish I did it sooner.

  19. This list is stupid! One of the nicest places in Northeast Pa is around Lake Wallenpaupack not Scranton! If looking to live in PA stay out of the bigger cities!
