Pennsylvania Lieutenant Governor John Fetterman looms tall — in person and in politics

John Fetterman, the 6’8″ lieutenant-governor of Pennsylvania, is a blunt-talking, self-described progressive intent on breaking through with swing voters, many of whom backed Donald Trump. Contributor Mark Whitaker talks with Fetterman about his efforts to revitalize Pennsylvania’s Rust Belt; his outspoken defense against election-related conspiracy theories; and his unabashed Twitter feed that mixes mockery with cold, hard facts.

  1. This guy is a shmuck coming from PA we dont like him. A lot of people dont like him here. The only thing i can agree on him, is his viewpoint on law in pa… law an order… he is strong on that which I like.

  2. Ill hold any praise as every democrat in the past twenty years has said one thing then done another, been stabbed in the back by too many democrats lately. i used to be an independent but this last twenty years has had me lean republican heavily.

  3. I hope he wins his Senate race. He is the reason I am a Progressive (other than Teddy Roosevelt and Bernie). He truly understands what people are going through and knows what hard work can bring. Senator Fetterman has a nice ring to it I hope it becomes a reality.

  4. As soon as he announced his run for Senate, I started a monthly donation to his campaign and will continue until the day he is sworn in… I live in OK and he is the only politician so far that I am supporting for Congress in 2022. If there are more like him who decide to run, then I may spread some of my funds around. So far though, he's the only one worth supporting.

  5. What an awesome dude, and his wife runs a charity to help others in need – principled good people that actually CARE about other people and the life experiences to inform their idealologies, the type that we desperately need for the Senate to replace the sketchy hypocrites (Cruz, Graham, and many many others!).

  6. John Fetterman is a clear example of who we really need in our Government! He's not a corrupt politician like Patt Toomey. With the support he has from both democrats and republicans, he will be our next Senator!

  7. I’m a Republican and I support John Fetterman he’s a capable guy and someone who can turn things around for his home state and the nation.

  8. I was impressed with this man on TV interviews. After reading his wiki this is a man among men. I am even more impressed with his history of being a great civic leader and helping underprivileged kids. Oh , in his spear time goes and gets a masters degree. This is a man you WANT in DC. Glad to here he is running for Senate. Keep telling it like it is John.

  9. I don’t care about weed, but I’m all for a higher minimum wage. And his wife is lovely and does a lot for people. It’s shameful that Karen would be so horrible. I hope that he makes it to the Senate. The GOP suck up in there now needs to go.
