New Open House Dates for Washington D.C. Temple

The open house for the Washington D.C. Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (originally scheduled for last year but delayed because of COVID-19) will now take place in 2022.

This news was made Tuesday, July 20, 2021, in a letter from the First Presidency and shared during a media event at the Washington D.C. Temple Visitors’ Center.

A media day for the renovated temple will take place on April 18, 2022, followed by private tours for invited guests from April 19 to April 27. A two-month public open house will then begin on April 28 and go through June 4 (except for Sundays)

  1. It was such a big deal to us when this temple opened. It was the first one east of the Mississippi River. Members didn't have to go to Utah to get married. It was like a dream come true.

  2. This was the temple went was sealed to my family , went to for temple trips as a youth and I was married and sealed to my husband here my brothers were too ! I love this temple

  3. Men do not become their gods and rule over their own worlds in the afterlife as Mormons teach. Jesus and the devil are not "spirit brothers" as the Mormons teach. Abandon this man made religion and embrace Jesus and the entirety of the Gospel that is only to be found in the the Church, that He established, which is the Catholic Church.

  4. Though I don't live near it anymore, this temple will forever hold a special place in my heart for where I received my holy blessings many years ago. From the moment you step in it truly is 'Holiness to the Lord'.

  5. There is only one God.

Thus saith the Lord the King of Israel, and his redeemer the Lord of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God. – Isaiah 44:6

    Jesus Christ is God.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. – John 1:1

And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. – John 1:14

We are saved by faith in Christ alone apart from works.

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. – Ephesians 2:8-9

All who trust Jesus Christ alone as their Savior are saved.

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved – Romans 10:9

The blood of Christ washes away all sin.

In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace – Ephesians 1:7

God does not dwell in temples.

God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands – Acts 17:24

    Do not receive another gospel.

But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. – Galatians 1:8

  6. I remember as a child, that this temple was one of my top favorites! I loved the designs of the 3 spires, similarly to the Salt Lake City, Utah Temple (which I also loved! 😉).
I think it reminded me of the spires you see in a typical "Castle" picture. 🤔

Today I know that we LITERALLY working in a Castle because they are Holy houses of the Lord, Jesus Christ. How is this possible? It's possible because Jesus Christ is known in Firs Timothy 6:15*, as "…KING of KINGS and LORD of LORDS..".

*(Aka: 1 Timothy 6:15 for younger readers 😉).

  7. I remember growing up as a child and thinking it was one of the most beautiful temples!
I also loved the Salt Lake City, Utah Temple.
Now that I think about it, I must've been drawn to the 3 spires like a castle. (If you think about it, they Really are Castles because they are houses of the Lord and Jesus Christ is "KING of KINGS and LORD of LORDS…"
